To the Capital/Capitol
Sonia and I are off to DC tomorrow evening for a weekend of museums and cherry blossoms. I'm taking the camera, but ran is forecasted. May not get too many pictures outside, but anything I can shoot inside, I will.
Speaking of photography. Here are a few from last weekend. One of 4th Presbyterian on Michigan Avenue, and one of Cardinal Quigley's statue outside of his seminary. Sorry for not getting closer, Pam. The Seminary is locked up pretty tight. I think the Diocese closed it.

What I did with my Sunday
In all my years here. I've never visited this place. While I don't endorse the faith. The temple is beautiful. More info here. Photos here

Bizkit the Sleepwalking Dog
This is great! A lot of times, I think Jonas is strange. Nothing like this.
Sgt. Pepper's of the 90s (Wherein I try to recommend an album to my Mom, by calling her an old fart)

Punched up OK Computer, Radiohead's 3rd album, yesterday on the old iPod. I'm amazed how much I still like this record after 11 years (can't believe its been that long). Don't know if you old farts that read this blog will have a clue what I'm talking about. But this is one the best album of my lifetime. Some would say its the band's seminal work (I'm still partial to The Bends). Anyway, old farts, if you think you can handle some of the racket, this is a beautiful record.
Some of the younger, cooler people that read this, you already (hopefully) know what I'm talking about.

I went to Graceland
Took a walk in Graceland Cemetery over the weekend. Had heard it was a good place to shoot photos, but felt odd because, well, it's a cemetery. It's also the final resting place of many of Chicago's founding fathers. The Getty Tomb, pictured above was designed by Louis Sullivan. Marshall Field is buried here (although I'll have to go back and find him).
If you want to see the pictures of what I did find, look here. Anyhow, the feeling that I was being a creep subsided shortly after I arrived. I wasn't the only one there shooting photos. Also, seeing as a good portion of the graves list death dates prior to the turn of the 20th century, I didn't think I'd be running into a lot of pissed off family members. In fact, I think I found only one headstone marking a burial in my life time and that was in 2002. It's a beautiful place though, and I'll probably head back with the wide angle lens soon.
